Basil Pesto Bruschetta

There’s nothing fresher than a Basil Pesto Bruschetta as a summer appetizer! And with Nuovo Pasta’s Basil Pesto, new levels of flavors are to be expected - our all natural process insures that the fresh Italian basil and toasted pignoli nuts add a heavenly depth of flavor to perfectly complement the juicy tomatoes. This summer appetizer knows no rivals thanks to @rosariochefvaltellina ‘s recipe creation with Nuovo Pasta Pesto!


8 Large slices of Italian rustic bread, 1” thick and about 6” X 3” size.
One 7 oz Container Nuovo D.O.P. Basil Pesto
2 Large ripe red or yellow tomatoes
Optional: Toasted pine nuts or pumpkin pepitas for garnish


  1. Toast or grill bread slices to desired crunchiness.
  2. Wash, core, and chop the tomatoes into ½” dice. Discard excess juice released by cutting or the bread will get soggy.
  3. Lightly toast pine nuts or pumpkin seeds, if using.
  4. Evenly spread basil pesto on grilled bread. Top with diced tomatoes
  5. Garnish with toasted pine nuts or pepitas.
