Ingredients
1 package of Nuovo Pasta Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato Caprese Ravioli
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1/4 cup of onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 can of your favorite crushed tomatoes
14.5 oz. can of fire roasted tomatoes, diced
salt & pepper
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon of dry oregano
1/2 cup of fresh basil, chiffonade
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add ravioli.
- Heat a medium size saute pan to medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and onions. Saute for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent and soft.
- Add in garlic and tomato paste, saute for 30 seconds and stir.
- Add in crushed tomatoes, fire roasted tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt & pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer, about 4 minutes.
- Add in fresh basil, stir, cook for 1 minute.
- Drain ravioli and add to the marinara sauce pan. Cook for 3 minutes. Serve hot.
